Napoli FC walked away with an R1 600 winner’s purse after cinching the Thembalabasha five-a-side street soccer tournament to celebrate Human Rights Day on March 21.
Hosted by Thembalabasha Youth Development, the event aimed to unite the youth of Wattville through recreational activities, promote local business through stalls and celebrate Human Rights Day.
“Locals supported the tournament, making it a success. The hosting organisation donated refreshment packs to children who came to watch the tournament,” said one organiser, Thulani Mpila.
Mpila thanked the Tholimfundo Foundation, EMPD, Actonville SAPS, and Red Bull for their contributions.
“We usually host these tournaments on public holidays to unite the youth, promote young talent and entrepreneurs and give back to the community through different programmes,” added Mpila.
