Deception

To look upon you my mind will race,
the thoughts you give me, as it stirs.
I've known good, and bad and all the pain,
Deceit or lies will always strike a nerve.

I've seen winter, the harsh winds like sandpaper.
Felt the rain, like stinging pellets against my skin.
Though nothing hurts more, then the deception
you've brought to my door and let in.

Turned from one good, to share an evil so hated.
I've lost all track of time, my mind a blur and confusion.
The many things you told me, felt so real and serene.
Now the figure I once knew, is but a shadow behind the scenes.

Deception is a game that some tend to play,
No winners to be had, someone will walk away.
It is like a hurt, that no bruise or scratch can cause,
like a knife that was thrusted into the heart.

Pain can be described by variations of the kind,
like good and evil, forever intertwined.
No right or wrong way can be informed,
as terrible to watch, the beginnings of a storm.

We have all seen some kind of deceit, cross our paths.
The lies we've been told have made us lapse.
The damage can be unnerving, and feel so strong.
Eventually we learn to pick ourselves up and move on.

So to those I speak to, and read my words.
Don't think you're invincible, cause that's absurd.

Stained

I looked upon you, as you took my hand.
It was a start nonetheless.
Stained with dirt, grime and false words.
Though now it is but a lie, so I wash my hands of it.

Deceit, lies and illusions are everywhere, sadly to say.
You can't see the danger, till it's too late.
Stained with mixed feelings, or just bad timing.
Whichever comes first I guess, stained is just a mess.

Friendships, connections and bonds are yet a task.
No seeing the goal line, till the course has been run.
The starting seemed good, though the end was bitter sweet.
The feeling it leaves in one's mind, after the ordeal.

Why make efforts? If the result is already preordained.
Whatever the issues, I know one person will be stained.
I move forward, cautious and silent.
Some efforts however, aren't without true reward.

For the goals in that plan, don't come at a price.
You know where you stand, no wrongs that feel right.
Stained but not harmed, my armor will prevail.
Now that I've seen the illusion, I won't be fooled again.

I leave you with these words, may they sink in and work.

For when you find a good friend, who will stick by you.
Remember one thing, friendships are fragile and need time
to build. Don't expect gold bridges and free refills.

Reading that makes me think there's some foolish woman out there who's missed out on a great thing.

and here's a thought, the best warriors are the most agile. The more armor you wear, the slower your movements, such that you might find yourself hunkered down by pounds of metal plating only to be squewered by some prancing idiot with a spear. I believe it's best to wear the 'right' armor, and not just as much as you can.
I believe that's what you're saying here, is that you've seen a gap in your defenses and you're mending it.

You're right, and now that I've taken care of the gap. I won't be so easily defeated again. For now the weakness I thought didn't exist, no longer will hinder me

 

Instead of armor, I wear masks. The problem is that armor can be taken off whereas removing a mask exposes one's true identity. Their similar but a mask is a constant lie you're telling others. I am ashamed of the false persona I must present to the world on a daily basis simply to avoid confrontation. But I can't bring myself to be myself around others. This site and others like it are a fantastic outlet for me since it allows me to be who I am without fear of reprisal.

 

I don't need to hide from anyone. Cause I don't need a mask to hide behind, I am who I am and if they don't like it or appreciate it. They don't deserve me as a friend.

It's a shame you're being the way you are, I had enjoyed your work but obviously I've offended you somehow.
Pitty.

 

I've never been offended by anything you've said to me, I write when the moment strikes me, I guess it's also due to certain comments I may receive from some females, not sure why.. guess it's just a reflex thing. Like when you know you've either stepped over your boundaries, or you feel like some people just don't accept you for you who you are. I find it helps me release a lot of things I have pent up, like years of depression or rejection or just not being liked or befriended by some people have suddenly opened up the gates of inner thoughts and feelings I thought I got rid of.. But they're still there.. cause scars will always be left behind, from past experiences..

 

I suppose I misunderstood, I tried to comment on your profile but it blocked me. So I assumed I'd said something that offended you and you had ignored me.
Then I read this poem and it seemed like you we're throwing a punch at me. My mistake. I was very confused.
Like I said on my status, I felt I was reading too far into what you've been posting lately, among other things.
