Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giants, IPL 2025: Expected Playing XIs & Top Players To Watch Out For

IPL 2025 KKR vs LSG: Probable Playing XIs, Key Players To Watch: Kolkata Knight Riders and the Lucknow Super Giants will face off at the Eden Gardens in Match 21 of the Indian Premier League on Tuesday, April 8 in an afternoon game.
KKR are coming off a massive 80-run win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at home and will be confident that they can do a double when they take on LSG. Pacers picked six of the 10 wickets and KKR will again hope the duo of Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana can give them a good start with the ball.

KKR are currently placed fifth on the points table, with four points from as many games and a net run rate of 0.07. Lucknow, on the other hand, are sixth, with four points from as many games and an NRR of 0.04.
Lucknow are coming off a 12-run win against the Mumbai Indians but will have to be wary of the venue. In IPL 2024, they could manage just 161/7 while batting first, which Kolkata chased down in the 16th over.
Under the scanner will be none other than Lucknow skipper Rishabh Pant, who has been misfiring over the past four matches and desperately needs some runs. The last time he played a T20 in Kolkata, he scored a 28-ball 52 against the Windies and his team would expect something similar this time as well.
Both teams locked at four points from as many matches- two victories apiece- going into the contest.
For the home team, it has been a season of mixed returns so far. After losses to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata roared back to form in their last outing- a commanding victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad- following a long-awaited middle-order resurgence.
Kolkata’s costliest buy, Venkatesh Iyer, finally delivered while Rinku Singh and veteran Ajinkya Rahane provided vital contributions.
KKR’s Likely Playing XI:
Having played their last match at the same venue and having won by a considerable margin, there is less chance that Kolkata will make any changes to their playing XI.
Kolkata Knight Riders Probable Playing XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Moeen Ali, Ramandeep Singh, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakaravarthy
LSG’s Likely Playing XI:
Having won their last game in Lucknow, there isn’t a possibility of Lucknow swapping players in their playing XI. If at all, they can replace Akash Deep with Prince Singh, but the former has a lot of experience of bowling at the Eden Gardens.
Lucknow Super Giants Probable Playing XI: Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Ayush Badoni, David Miller, Abdul Samad, Shardul Thakur, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Prince Yadav, Avesh Khan
