Why are you being judgemental? What does it matter to you how long someone spends in the shower?

 

Normally 10 min
If busy ..5ish
If shaving 15-20ish
If another person with me ... That's another story altogether

 

Being so close to the international court of justice in The Hague I have used my considerable influence to proscribe excessive showering. The matter is now in the hands of the justices there. When I use the word should I’m using it in the sense of how long should it take to get clean as that to me is the purpose of a shower. If the purpose to someone else is to feel the soothing warm water then we are entering a new territory. Fresh water is an issue in many parts of the world and will continue to be a greater resource issue as populations continue to increase. I just think we need to be mindful.

 

Depends on if I'm in a hurry or not. When working it was quick in the morning, now maybe 15 minutes longer if I shave.

 

It takes 10 minutes, just to rinse out my hair...
That's not even considering shampooing or
conditioner...

 

I do roughly 10 minutes. More if I decide to shave.

My hair used to be quite long and I was still able to totally wash it and condition it plus clean the rest of my body in under 10 minutes.

 

Water is also under seige by corporations that want to own the rights to all of it. Nestle has made it abundantly clear that they are in the market to own water rights. In Michigan, they signed a contract with nestle to bottle water, and when Flint had its crisis, nestle tried to make a show of just how "generous" they were by providing the water that they bottled in the state of Michigan to the city for no charge. They have since stopped doing that.

Have you spoken with the international court about that? My guess is no.

I had assumed that my comments about my connections with the international court of justice would be taken as jest. I assumed no one would take them seriously but apparently I was mistaken.

 

Because water is a resource that has to transported and treated. This takes energy and I thought Greta taught us that we should not use energy unwisely. I am not a wasteful person but apparently you think being as wasteful as one wishes is a basic human right.

 

so by the sounds of this. men are anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. The women are around 10 until the hot water runs out depending on hair and shaving.

 

Is Nestle using the water to make a marketable product that provides jobs and value to the economy? Is the person using 45 minutes of hot water doing anything other than using up resources just because it feels good on their skin. Who is the more selfish?

 

I don’t understand why shaving needs to be done only in the presence of hot running water. My beard is thick and it would take me a minimum of 20 minutes to shave properly in the shower. I would consider this a waste and I would consider it shameful.

 

You get your hair wet. That takes maybe 3o seconds. You put in the shampoo and use the excess to prewash your body. Then you rinse it all off. So you’re up to 3 minutes tops. You put in the conditioner and let it do it’s thing while you lather up your body for the major wash. Maybe use a loofah if you’re so inclined. So add 5 more minutes. Then you have a full two minutes to rinse everything completely out. 10 minutes to freshness. It’s not like it was when we did it down by the river although cold water like that would probably speed up the process.

 

A shower should take as long as I feel like I want to be in the shower. Lol usually between 20 and 30 mins depends on if my hair is down or in braids

 

I have never timed my showers. Never gave it much thought.
My hair is long and I have a beard. This can make a shower longer or shorter. Since I don't shave it takes less time. I don't have very much body hair so don't have that to worry about.
I do not need conditioner. All I need is soap, shampoo, and a luffa.
I raise my own luffas so they are large and hold a lot of soap. Cover a lot of body in one scrub.
